A divorce is very difficult. Your definition of yourself, social circle, and finances all change. Most importantly, your vision of the future changes. The emotions of a divorce are very contradictory and intense.
In therapy, I help clients with increasing positive coping and letting go of anger and fear. The two techniques we use to accomplish this are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques.
Therapy can also help you manage the practical aspects of a divorce; rebuilding one’s social circle, managing practical changes, starting to date and co-parenting.
